If you own a Panasonic (OBRIA) KX-TSC10MXW phone, there is a very likely chance you would run into a Dial Lock issue, i.e., the phone dialpad gets locked automatically prohibiting the user from making any outgoing calls. Nobody knows how it happens and majority of the users replace with a new phone just because they cannot figure out a way to fix it. Recently when I stumbled on this problem, I was fortunate to find a solution to get it unlocked. Follow these magic steps:
1) Put batteries in your phone and place the receiver on-hook.
2) Press Function and then the Down direction button until...
Inside your home folder is a Library folder—commonly written in Unix syntax as ~/Library, which means “a folder named Library at the root level of your home folder.” This folder is accessible only to you, and it’s used to store your personal settings, application-support files, and, in some cases, data.
The files and folders in ~/Library are generally meant to be left alone, but if you’ve been using OS X for a while, chances are you’ve delved inside. Perhaps you wanted to tweak something using a tip from Macworld, Mac OS X Hints, or elsewhere on the Web. Or maybe a developer asked...

These are all good tricks for DIY with Zero skils…especially the vaseline one. the point is with the vaseline it is not permanant and needs re-doing every time you wipe your screen. If you put some more effort you can achieve perfect results.
I’ve repaired many monitors (among other things) using the following technique.
1. a DREMEL with a felt cone bit (not essensial but makes does the job so much quicker…in less than a minute).
2. Automotive Rubbing compound (toothpaste does the job too, but a lot slower! BRASSO is good too but you have to clean it very well.
